Pawns on the "F" file can move sideways (but can not capture) But can only move sideways when on the f-file and moving off of it.
* War-machine: It can leap 2 spaces orthogonally.
* Modern War-machine: It can leap 2 spaces orthogonally or move one space orthogonally.
* Knight: Same as in chess.
* Rook: Same as in chess.
* King: As a Wazir (one space orthoganlly, no diagonal moves).
Rules
Similar to chess rules. However, there is no castling, no double-space pawn moves. Capture the opponent's king to win.
The players, prior to the start of a game, may replace one or both of their War Machines with either a Knight, or a Modern War Machine. If a player starts with both normal War Machines his pawns can capture (as they move-- see pawns rules) otherwise pawns cannot capture. Also, promotion aspect is different for those starting with two War Machines. This 'user submitted' page is a collaboration between the posting user and the Chess Variant Pages.
