Jump-a-long Chess

Normal chess but incorporating two "jump-a-long" piece types, which may jump over any number of squares, as long as all those squares are occupied.

Perhaps something like this has been done before, though.

Pieces

Jumpalongwazir

The Jumpalongwazir moves one square orthogonally. It may also jump any number of squares orthogonally, provided all of the intermediate squares are occupied.

Jumpalongferz

The Jumpalongferz moves one square diagonally. It may also jump any number of squares diagonally, provided all of the intermediate squares are occupied.

Pawn, Rook, Knight, Bishop, Queen, King

As in standard chess.

Rules

Pawns may promote to a Jumpalongwazir or Jumpalongferz as well, in addition to their normal promotion possibilities.

Pawns starting on the third rank don't have an initial double step option.

All other rules as in standard chess.

Notes

The interactive diagram estimates the piece values for the jump-a-long pieces as less than a Knight, about two pawns, the Jumpalongwazir a little bit more.
