The 1st ArchB problem was by George Leathem (Number 423 in the Problemist Fairy Chess Supplement, June 1932: WKh1, Aa2, Ah6; BKf6, Pc3, Ph7 for Mate in 2 by 1. Aa2xh7. This was improved by Frederick Forrest Lawrie Alexander who moved WK to b2, Pc3 to e3 and removed Ph7, when the key becomes 1. Ka1). The same issue contained the famous Fox family of ArchB problems which is reproduced in Thomas Rayner Dawson's collection of Charles Masson Fox's problems.
