Overcrowding is not a big problem. Certain pieces, such as the Zeppelin, do not contribute to congestion. The Zeppelin can ignore the pieces and fly to empty spaces. Still, it's not worth more than a light piece. It works like a dream. There are many such pieces. I have introduced the Zeppelin to Pioneer Chess, Alternative Chess and to Accessory Chess. Certain cannons are unproblematical, too, because they can fly.
