'I designed Scirocco to satisfy my own taste in chess variants.'

This ZRF presents a huge selection of pieces - with excellent graphics and an accompanying README file that details his design philosophy. There are several variants, including Shatranjirocco on an 8x8 board. Plus a 'nearly empty board', which can be used to check out movement rules for obscure fairy chess pieces. Think of it as an interactive PIECECLOPEDIA. While I do not share Adrian King's taste in chess variants, I do find this ZRF a valuable resource when designing my own games.
