David Short's Double Chess is one such game, played on a 16x8 board. Byzantine Chess is an unusual case, which can be regarded as a 4x16 board with two edges glued together. Not entirely sure about hexagonal and 3D games, but I would include any chess variant with more than 225 cells. Dai Shogi (15x15 board) will still be in the old Large board category.
