Brief grammatical note: dice is plural; die is singular.
Otherwise, at first glance, it looks like an interesting game.
A couple of questions, though. First, when moving a die, in what order do things happen? I'd assume that the player declares the move, pointing to where the die will move to, and then rolls it and puts it in its new place. It might also be possible to have a spare die on the side, so the player moves the die on the board, then rolls the side one and turns the moved one to match.
Second, how does one get that very cool-looking equipment???
Dear Bob,
Thank you for your feedback. Made some grammatical and clarification updates, and also added .stl files for anyone, who would like to 3D print the equipment.
Best regards,
Ilya
(To author):

(If anything, Bob is not an editor; he will evaluate it, but he will not be able to publish it: he is a person like you and me, only the editors are more willing to check his versions; so we wait
by the sea for the weather)
(With thanks to Bing Translate)
Lev is correct (except perhaps for the part about the editors being more willing to check my versions). The editors have a particular icon next to their names to identify them as such.
Лев - спасибо за пояснение, и спасибо за высокую оценку игры.
В любом случае, дополнения Боба были хорошей идеей.
In any case, thank you very much for your contribution, I think your suggestions were in place.
Best regards, Ilya
Did you check to see if another game already has this name? See Metamorph Chess.
Hello Fergus!
I think I did a Google search, strange it didn't come up right away. Maybe I made a grammar mistake.
Thank you very much for pointing this out, I've changed the name to Changeling Chess.
Best regards,
Ilya
Changeling Chess is also taken (kinda) https://www.zillions-of-games.com/cgi-bin/zilligames/submissions.cgi/93766?do=show;id=163
My name suggestion: Die-Pawn Chess.
Yes, Karl Scherer created a bunch of games with Zillions-of-Games, tried to list them on Wikipedia, got frustrated when his pages were taken down due to "original research" being against Wikipedia policy, and never bothered to submit his games here. So, it's important to search both Zillions-of-Games and this site to check whether a name has been used.
Dear Fergus,
Thank you very much for the help. Looks like all the cool fantasy names are long taken, so after a thoughtful search, I took inspiration from "Really Bad Chess" by Zach Gage and renamed my game to "Fluky Chess".
I think, that now my submission is ready.
For your consideration,
Best regards, Ilya
Dear editorial team, there was a little squeak of impatience, now deleted. Sorry, doesn't matter, take your time. Best regards, Ilya
Don't fret, Ilya. It can take a good bit of time before a submission is approved. I have several that have been waiting one to two months or more. Three of them, I could see being delayed for differing reasons, but the other four are good to go and delayed only because of the backlog and because the editors somehow manage to have lives outside of chess. :)
Hello Bob!
Yes, you are right. I got a little impatient out there, but you definitely have a good point - there are a lot of inventors and probably a large backlog.
Best regards,
Ilya.
The roll is obligatory, with three exceptions: if the move ends with a check, the piece reaches the last line as rook, bishop or knight, or if a pawn reaches the last line.
The first exclusion as written includes discovered check; is that intended?
The second exclusion sounds like it's there to prevent rolling a pawn and it being stuck; but maybe it fits better to force a roll, and if it lands pawn then the player immediately promotes (chooses a face)?
I've removed the Incomplete Information category. I don't think we include randomness in that definition, just deterministic information that's hidden (?).
Dear Ben, thank you very much for the observation - I'll change the first exception to "if the moved piece puts the enemy king in check" - so there would be no mistake. Originally, it was like you proposed, but in the playtest, we found that the second exception as it is makes the play more dynamic and, more importantly, gives more tactical planning possibilities.
Of course, in the tag and formatting part, I totally rely on your judgment as an editor.
Thank you for your help and approvement!
