I think that, logically, a win should also be declared if a player captures all of his opponent's Centurions.
Exactly. I forgot to mention that.
I hope you like the way Centurions move.
I agree with Bob. So, may the last Centurion of a player considered as royal, i.e. it can be checkmated?
More comments. I don't see what the discussion on the size of the board, with the 10x10 being superior to the 8x8 and 12x12, has to do with the game. Apart from the fact that this game is played on 10x10 but so what? And this introductory comment is generalizing an opinion which is subjective. Some games are better on 8x8, others on 12x12, or 10x8, or 9x9 or any size. It depends of many things.
Nothing is said about Pawn's promotion. May the Pawn promote to Centurion?
The remark that there is no castling is quite obvious as there is no King.
Ok. Thanks. I fixed it.
This looks good.
The Centurions are an interesting idea. The 1d shogis have tried this kind of idea before with a single forward-only King.
If it turns out there are too many Centurions, you can always reduce the number of Centurions to two. However, the winning King promotion likely takes care of that, at least if it is an immediate win.

I did a game simulation and the number of Centurions are well balanced.
Thank you for publishing this. It really deserves it.
I really like this concept. To me it seems like a great Chess-Arimaa hybrid. I don't know whether you consciously considered that, but the Centurions function much like the Rabbits in Arimaa, whereby you win by getting a Rabbit to the other side, or by capturing all of the opponent's Rabbits, with the last Rabbit effectively becoming royal (although it is not defined that way, losing it means losing the game).
I have often thought about how to bring about a synthesis of Chess and Arimaa, but have never been able to come up with a concept that satisfies me. YOU have done so, however. Thanks!

I am glad to introduce to you another great idea. Please have a look.
