Yet another option for unbinding the Bishop would be to combine the eponymous feature of Fergus Duniho's Fusion Chess, so that the Bishop could change square colour as part of a temporary Queen or Cardinal. My preferred term for Rook+Ferz has changed since my first comment here, but it may change yet again soon (see my piece article Constitutional Characters).
