You made a mistake in the ASCII for the lettering of the Parameciums.
Someone ZRFitize it please!!!!
I have noticed that there is significant confusion about the proper term for creating a ZRF. Which is it, 'ZRFitize', 'ZRFolate'? I believe that it has been clearly established that the *proper* term is 'ZRFolize'! (http://www.chessvariants.com/index/listcomments.php?itemid=10-1-21-43)
My opinion on this matter is that all these neologisms are ugly, and I shall use none of them. I normally speak of implementing a game for Zillions.
A little clarification: When a piece is initially attacked by a Virus, does the player(original owner) have the ability to use that infected piece during the subsequent moves before it spawns into two opponent Viruses? I am considering coding the 'implementation' of this game. So I may have more questions during the task.
A few more questions: Is the expansion and contraction of the Amoeba consider seperate moves? Can the player move then expand, move then contract, expand then move, or contract then move? And to further clarify the 'jump 3 spaces' rule for a few of the pieces. Does this mean 'jump to the third space' or 'jump over 3 spaces' or 'jump up to 3 spaces'? And isn't the plural of Virus also Virus? Or is it Viri? ;-) Sorry to nit-pick. This appears to be a nice variant with a very interesting theme.
Virus plural is viruses or virii
I like the originality of this. Question... should a red blood cell reach the other side of the board, what happens?
If a bactirium captures a white blood cell then does it have to stay on that side of the board?
Do the red blood cells promote? Also, what happens when a prion-infected virus captures?
I think that either red blood cells just get stuck at the top, they treat the board as a cylinder and wrap around from the top to the bottom, or we should rename them stem cells and let them promote.
I don't think so. We could make it stronger by saying it only uses the Queen move on its own half of the board, and tone it back down a bit by making it only use, say, Virus special captures, when it uses a king move.
Maybe we could speed the game up a bit by making some pieces slightly faster and, like the Drunken Nights of CwDA, tone down the White Blood Cell a bit.
