HG,

Isn't the Spartan chess captain in Betza notation FAmsW?

Probleme on this website[Subject Thread] [Add Response]

Hello,

Today, but I think it started late last night, 12 hours ago, now is 2.30 pm Romania time (12.30 GMT), I had plenty of trouble with the website. It is a bit difficult to describe as I don't really get it myself, but the symptom is that URLs sometimes (quite often) dont load fully. Is it only me, or is that a general problem? This usually happens during game courier games, but also in oher situation.

Kevin,Have you gave up using the frog> I'd personally like to have 2 variations of the game rather than chossing one or the other:)!

Aurelian Florea wrote on Tue, Nov 14, 2017 08:18 AM UTC:

Kevin, First please excuse my ignorance. It seems I have skipped some of your comment.

Next, different initial positions, to me, don't seem much like different variants, for example my 2 apothecaries have 24 different initial positions but still each of them are one variant.

In the Introduction line 6 you have misspled chu shogi to clu shogi, please correct it :)!

The promoted form of the lance is different in both name and move in different parts of the article :)!

Hex Shogi 91. A hexagonal Shogi variant on a 91-space board. (Cells: 91) [All Comments] [Add Comment or Rating]
Aurelian Florea wrote on Thu, Nov 16, 2017 10:15 AM UTC:

Hello,

I have just started a game courier game, of Hexshogi91 against Erik. I was wondering if anyone has written any theory on it. Some principles of regular shogi probably apply like use early move for castling, but some don't apply, like for example moving you knight in this game could be less risky. The game does definitely sounds very interesting

Hello,

First, this is the grammar Nazi in me, but you forgot an "?".

You have to gave me more information about the game. The pawn you describe is the Korean chess pawn, but I doubt your idea is to do something similar to Korean chess :)!

Aurelian Florea wrote on Thu, Nov 16, 2017 12:32 PM UTC:

I don't think it would work as dropping pawn barrages ahead of your king would make head on attacks impossible.

The cannon is definetly not close in value to the rook, maybe to the knight, a bit stronger in the opening :)!

Musketter chess does not seem to work yet. As black when I try to place the pieces on the fake back rank (the 9th!) it gives or sort of error. Moves seem to be banned but the proper move (2 legged move with ; in between) does not seem to be allowed either :(! Please help :)!

Metamorph chess does not seem to work either :(!

@Fergus,

Hello,

Should I delete the games I have started before your corrections were  made as they now give errors out of the bat?

@Fergus,

Ok, Thanks :)!

Hello, A frog is a threeleaper and ferz compound meaning the length 3 jump is orthogonal not diagonal!

@Kevin

Hello,

What about your waffle (as Ralph Betza has named the WA; I forgot how you have named that piece) variant?

Moreover, If you publish the waffle varitant and build presets for both games I'd like to play you four times (preferably simultaneously) 2 games of each where in each game I have the white pieces once, and black pieces once. What do you, think, It would also be a good test :)! For now, bye !

Why not switch the knights and  lieutenants as the kngiths now are to far from the action? Also in any setup waffles and lieutenants in the initial position switched should be also aloud as they are very similar. Maybe because of beeing the slightly weaker piece  the wafle should be closer to the center of the board as opening principles dictate that is should be developed first :)!

Oh, yes not all pawns would be protected :(!

Tenjiku Shogi. Fire Demons burn surrounding enemies, Generals capture jumping many pieces. (16x16, Cells: 256) [All Comments] [Add Comment or Rating]

In the Betza description of the lance below where the "First rank" subtitle is written there seems to be an error. I'm quite sure that the lance should be fR but there it says just rook.
