The Eris seems to be too strong. If I understand the piece correctly, the Eris can attack any non-royal piece in the opponent's backrow.

RRookie24 wrote on Wed, Apr 23 02:01 PM UTC in reply to HaruN Y from 11:46 AM:

The problem is that the Eris coordinates with the enemy King. All backrow pieces share their rank with the King.

RRookie24 wrote on Thu, Apr 24 04:53 AM UTC in reply to HaruN Y from Wed Apr 23 10:19 PM:

It takes at least two turns to move the King from his starting position. The white Eris can capture a backrow piece on the second turn.

Black would need to free the black Eris first. White might still have the advantage. I am not a great chess player, but I am still not convinced that the Eris is balanced.

This variant is interesting. There is, however, a potential problem concerning the Cannon and Stallion armies:

The Stallion army can trade a Korean Cannon for an Elephant General on the second turn. As far as I can see, the Cannon army has no way to stop this.

You could add the Beautiful Beasts and the Starbound Sliders. The armies from OctaChess are also compatible with CwDA.

How about the Glorious Generals? Most of the pieces are generals after all.

Even with the Discord link, it took me quite a long time to understand the Bizarre Bijections. Maybe you could create a separate page for this army.

RRookie24 wrote on Sun, May 4 08:10 AM UTC in reply to HaruN Y from Sat May 3 03:28 PM:

Yes, I am variant_25. As far as I understand the pieces, the Bizarre Bijections move the following way:

The Bizzarook moves as a Dabbabarider. In addition, it can change its colour by moving off the board and returning to the other side (e.g. from A7 to A2). It can continue as a Dabbabarider afterwards. This ability can be used on the rank and the file.

The Butterfly Knight moves as a cylindrical Knight, but cannot cross the vertical midline (between the D and E files).

The Lazy Alice Bishop moves as a Bishop unless it moves on the E or D files. If it moves through these files, it can move as a vertical Wazir and contiue as a Bishop towards the edge of the board in the same direction. This piece is restricted to one side of the board.

The Butterfly Queen moves as a cylindrical Queen, but cannot cross the vertical midline.

I would use a different ID for the Twin Tower piece.

RRookie24 wrote on Fri, May 9 02:09 PM UTC in reply to HaruN Y from 12:58 PM:

I thank you for the correction. The piece, however, does not seem to work this way in the diagram.

What does the Discord key do? I only used Discord to understand the army.

Ok, I misunderstood the piece then.

I already played the Mad Chess demo on Steam. I am, however, not sure if I can play more recent versions. (Steam blocks games without an age rating in Germany)

My comment referred to the ID. An airplane is not a good choice for a piece that is represented by twin towers.
