5th European Championship of Hexagonal Chess

László Gados, Presendent of the Hungarian Hexachess Federation sent the following information on the 5th European Championship of Hexagonal Chess.

  1. Aim of the tournament: to find the fifth European champion.
  2. Organizers: Hungarian Hexachess Federation and Mass Sport Association named after Petõfi.
  3. Time and place of the tournament: 17-23 August, 1998, Boarding-school (Réti u. 1, Tatabánya).

  5. Tournament system:
    • all play with all (11 rounds), 2 rounds on every day
    • Time limit: 2 ( 2 hours 15 minutes 2 ( 2 hours for the first 40 moves, 15 minutes undoing until flag drops down. It is mandatory to write down the game, except the last 5 minutes.
    • Resolving tie: Berger-Sonneborn.
